How does a Solar Energy System Work?
Certain materials can be made to produce electricity when light falls on them; this is called the photovoltaic effect. Solar panels use this effect to convert energy from sunlight into direct current (DC) electrical energy. An inverter unit then changes this into alternating current (AC) for your home's electrical circuits. What does kWh production convert to in Dollars?
There are several factors that can affect the actual Dollar value to kWh production. While it would be difficult to give an exact figure of Dollars Produced due to fluctuating fuel charges from Lucelec, our average 5kW Solar Energy System should produce between $450 XCD to $650 XCD worth of Electricity per month. Please note that these figures are directly linked to the Utility Company’s current Rate. To calculate your savings per month, multiply the amount of kWh your system produces for that month by the current monthly utility rate. Net metering is a billing mechanism that credits Solar Energy System owners for the electricity they add to the grid. If a residential customer has a Solar Energy System on the home's rooftop, it may generate more electricity than the home uses during daylight hours. If the home is net-metered, the electricity meter will run backwards to provide a credit against what electricity is consumed at night or other periods where the home's electricity use exceeds the system's output. Customers are only billed for their "net" energy use. In other words, a household is only credited for surplus electricity fed into the grid after domestic use is subtracted. For example, your system produced 3000kWh for the month and you used 2500kWh of electricity in your home during that month (the time when your Solar Energy System was generating power), the rate is only paid for the 500kWh difference.
WHAT TYPE OF WARRANTY AM I LOOKING AT?
We offer a 2 Year Warranty on our Solar Energy Systems commencing from the Date of commissioning. Our Warranty covers both Equipment and Labour. Panels and Inverters are covered under an extended factory Warranty which can be claimed after our Two Year Warranty is up. The extended factory warranty pertains to Equipment only and does not cover Labour to remove and reinstall Warrantied Equipment.
